Time to daydream

In Week 3 of the Pricing Overhaul® Program, our assignment centered around how many hours a week we wish to work.

Well, here comes that mindset piece again. Because my first response to my cohort was, “I love to work, so I don’t mind my long workweeks.”

But the minute those words left my mouth, I knew it wasn’t completely true. It is a habit from years of feeling I had no choice but to wear all of the hats, and further fueled by the hustle-culture to attract more, convert more and retain more and more and more.

Working long hours six days a week isn’t healthy, no matter how much I love my job. And working less doesn’t mean I don’t love my job or that I have a lesser work ethic. It just means I have other interests, too. It means honoring my potential for other talents.

So I spent the last week carving out periods of time where I went offline from the studio. I went on walks, helped a friend pack her house, reminisced about last year’s vacation and planted a spring salad garden. And guess what? No one noticed I was unavailable!

Except me.

Ready to dream a little?

As my client, one of your first exercises is to answer this question:

How many hours a week would you like to work?

My magic number is 25. And I’m closer to it this week than I was the week before. The Pricing Overhaul® program is setting the foundation, one hour at a time.
