Good math and 17 years of not quitting.
If your studio is busy but the numbers aren't adding up, that's a specific problem. It usually has a specific cause. Finding it is where we start.
The ProblemMost studio owners who contact me aren't in crisis. They're doing well enough.
Clients are coming in, the schedule is full, the team is mostly solid. But something isn't working the way it should, and they can't quite put their finger on what.
It's usually not one thing. It's a pricing structure that made sense two years ago and doesn't now. A payroll ratio that crept up without anyone noticing. A team built on goodwill instead of policy. Revenue that looks fine on the surface but isn't.
The work I do is specific to your numbers, your team and your market. Not built from a template, not a course dressed up as consulting. You get my full attention on calls and support between them.
How we work together
Most clients who come to me think they have a pricing problem. Usually that's part of it. But pricing doesn't exist in isolation. I offer three advisory tiers to look at the full picture.
-
Four calls per month. This is where most clients start.
We meet weekly. Between calls, you have access to me via Voxer and email. The work covers whatever your business needs: revenue structure, team management, operations, hiring, retention. We go where the numbers take us.
Minimum commitment: 3 months. Most clients transition to Monthly Advisory once the foundational work is complete.
Right for you if: You have an active studio or service-based practice, you're ready to look at your actual numbers, and you want consistent support while you work through it.
-
One call per month.
One focused call per month, plus Voxer and email support between sessions.
Right for you if: You've already done the foundational work, know how to implement between calls, and need a consistent outside perspective. Most Monthly Advisory clients either graduated from Weekly Advisory or come in as experienced operators who have full-time desk support and are strongly self-directed.
-
One call per month plus 10 hours of administrative support.
Everything in Monthly Advisory, with the addition of 10 hours per month of hands-on administrative support: software and client account management, lead intake, front desk systems and training.
Right for you if: You need both strategic direction and operational lift. This is a good fit for solo operators or small studios where the front desk function is falling to the owner.
How I'm DifferentI have been in this industry since 2002. I opened Somaspace in Austin in 2009 and I still run it.
I was operating before Covid, during it and on the other side of it. Each phase required different decisions, different math and a different kind of nerve. I made it through all three without selling, closing or rebranding my way out of the problem.
Somaspace is my primary income. Not a side project, not a passion play subsidized by other means. My studio has to work the same way yours does. That is the context I bring to every client engagement: the same stakes, the same constraints, the same pressure to get the numbers right.
Austin is also not an easy market. Private equity studios, franchise concepts and wellness trends cycle through this city constantly. There is a new competitor across the street from my studio right now. Somaspace has been here since 2009, independently owned, and is not going anywhere.
My consulting is grounded in what is actually happening in boutique fitness right now. Not what worked before the market changed.
